What is TextMeBack?

TextMeBack is an AI texting assistant for dating: a set of tools that help you write better messages and read the tone of a conversation on the dating apps you already use. Stuck on a reply, an opener, or your bio? It gives you suggestions you can edit and send your own way. It is not a dating app, a matchmaker, or a relationship therapist.

How does it work?

• You provide the context: paste a message, upload a screenshot of a chat, or drop in a profile.
• It generates suggestions: the text or photo is sent to our AI service to produce replies, openers, a vibe read, or a bio.
• You decide: pick one, edit it so it sounds like you, and paste it into whatever app you were using.
• Then it's gone from the cloud: your input is discarded after the suggestion is made; only your device keeps a copy.

What are the seven tools?

• Smart Replies, suggested replies to a message, in the tone you pick, each with a confidence score.
• Vibe Check, a read on how interested they are, with green and yellow flags and a next move.
• Conversation Starters, personalized first messages built from a profile.
• Bio Optimizer, your bio rewritten a few ways, tuned per platform.
• Photo Review, up to six photos scored with pros, cons, and a fix each.
• Dating Advice, a quick read on a scenario plus do and don't lists.
• Date Planner, a date itinerary from a location and a vibe.

Where does my data go? Is it safe?

Here's the honest version. Your history lives on your phone in on-device storage, with no login and no online account. When you ask for a suggestion, the text or photo you share is sent over an encrypted connection to our AI processing service, used to generate the result, and then discarded.

We do not keep server-side logs of your conversations, we do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers. We do not access your contacts, location, calendar, camera, or microphone in the background.

We will never tell you "nothing is uploaded," because producing a suggestion genuinely requires that quick round trip. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.

What can't it do?

• It's not a matchmaker. It won't find or swipe on people for you.
• It's not a therapist. For grief, anxiety, or anything heavy, talk to a real professional.
• It's not a guarantee. Suggestions can boost your confidence; they can't promise a match or a date. People have free will.
• It won't help you manipulate. We won't generate content meant to deceive, pressure, or coerce anyone.
• It doesn't know your match. It only sees what you give it, so more context means better suggestions.

Can the AI be wrong?

Yes. AI can misread tone, miss context, or suggest something that just doesn't fit. Always read a suggestion before sending it, and rewrite anything that doesn't sound like you. Don't copy-paste blindly. The best results come from using a suggestion as a starting point and making it yours.

Why are my suggestions generic?

Usually because there isn't much to work with. Add context: "She likes hiking and 90s movies, we matched on Hinge, this is my first message." The more specific you are, the sharper the suggestion.

Can I use the suggestions in other apps?

Absolutely. Copy a suggestion and paste it wherever you're talking, on Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, WhatsApp, SMS, anywhere. TextMeBack is a companion to those apps, not a replacement for them.

How do I manage a subscription?

A free tier with a limit on generations is available, and unlimited use will be offered through an in-app subscription billed by Apple or Google. To manage or cancel it: open the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android), go to your subscriptions, find TextMeBack, and change or cancel it there. Refunds follow Apple's or Google's policies.

TextMeBack is still in development and not yet on the stores. You can register for early access and we'll email you at launch.

How do I delete my data?

Clear data in the app (where available) or uninstall it. Because there's no account, removing the app removes your local history. Cloud inputs are already discarded after each suggestion. If you have any other request, email [email protected].

I hit a bug, or a suggestion was offensive

Please tell us. Email [email protected] with what happened, a screenshot if you have one, and your device and app version. We read every report and use it to improve the app.

Is it suitable for minors?

No. TextMeBack is for adults dating online and is intended for ages 17 and up. It is not designed for children.
