Privacy Policy
Prova · Last updated 29 June 2026
Prova helps you understand your blood-test and lab results in plain language. This policy explains what we collect, where it goes, and the choices you have. We built Prova to keep your health data on your device by default.
The short version
- Your reports, the values on them, and your health profile are stored locally on your device. They are not synced to an account or kept on our servers for storage.
- When you ask Prova to explain a result or chat about it, the relevant text from that result is sent to our processing service and to a third-party AI provider to generate that response, then discarded.
- We use privacy-respecting tools for crash reporting, anonymous usage analytics, and purchase management.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not use your health information to advertise to you.
Information you provide
- Health information you enter or scan: your lab and blood-test values, the test names and reference ranges on your report, and a basic health profile such as age, height, weight, and goals. This is kept on your device.
- Photos of reports you choose to scan: the image is processed to read the values, then the values are kept on your device. We do not retain a copy of the photo on our servers.
Information collected automatically
- Diagnostics: crash reports and error diagnostics so we can fix problems. These do not include your results.
- Usage analytics: which screens and features are used, tied to a randomly generated identifier, so we can improve the app. We avoid attaching your specific health values to analytics events.
- Purchase information (through the App Store or Google Play): your purchase status and the device or store identifiers needed to manage it. We never receive your full card details.
How AI processing works
To explain a result or answer a question, Prova sends the relevant text from your result to a secure processing service we operate, and onward to a third-party AI provider. The data is used only to generate your response. We instruct our AI providers not to use this data to train their models, and the data is not retained for storage after the response is produced.
Prova is for information and education only. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always talk to a qualified healthcare professional about your results.
Accounts
Prova works without an account. The app uses an anonymous session, a random identifier with no name or email attached, so it can reach our processing service securely. You are not asked to register to use Prova.
Sharing
We share data only with the service providers that make Prova work: our AI processing provider, our crash-reporting and analytics partners, and purchase management through Apple and Google for billing. Each processes data only on our behalf and under their own privacy commitments. We do not sell your personal information.
Retention and deletion
Because your reports and profile live on your device, deleting the app removes that data. Data sent for AI processing is transient and is not stored after your response is generated. You can also export or delete all of your on-device data from within the app at any time. To request deletion of diagnostic or analytics data associated with your device, contact us at the address below.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the limited data we process, and to object to certain processing. Contact us and we will help. We comply with applicable privacy laws, including the GDPR and CCPA, to the extent they apply.
Children
Prova is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13, or the equivalent minimum age in your country. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy as Prova evolves. We will revise the date above when we do, and material changes will be reflected in the app.
